It takes time
A few days ago, I was chatting with a friend about the importance of time. The more I live, the more I realise that everything needs time. And so do I.
Time to remember who I am.
Time to understand who I’m not.
Time to figure out where I want to go, and to learn how to walk that path.
Time to heal old wounds and feel lighter.
Time to find answers, and to fine-tune the questions.
In Astrology, time belongs to Saturn.
In classical Astrology, he’s called a “malefic planet” because he brings restrictions and limitations. But in modern Astrology, the story is different. And for me, Saturn is essential for growth. He shows us not just what we came here to learn, but why time, and limits, matter.
Because the restrictions that life so often presents us with, require us to mature. And this maturity can only be achieved by living life, one day after the other.
But that’s easier said than done... Because we live in an age where everything is instant. One click and the world seems to fit in the palm of your hand. Then Saturn comes along and says, “No. Not yet.”
Between 27 and 29, when Saturn returns for the first time to where he was in the birth chart, Saturn and life ask together: “What have you done with your time? And what will you do with the time ahead?”
It’s a moment that often shows us where we’ve been holding ourselves back, or where we actually need to hold back and create boundaries, so that the true process of maturity, which is life itself, can begin.
And the truth is, over time, I’ve realised some lessons arrive in ways that feel tough. But when they come from Saturn, they tend to bring alignment. They strip away illusions, old conditioning, or the habit of checking out of our own lives, and invite us to take responsibility for how we want to spend this precious time we’ve been given.
I also realised that commitment, a very Saturnian word that scares so many, is a key for freedom. Because when we choose with awareness, and build step by step, we see that commitment and discipline don’t lock us in; they set us free. They give our wings somewhere solid to take off from. And it’s from that solid ground that we feel safe to keep walking.
We want everything for yesterday. But things take time.
We can have it all, just not all at the same time.
Rushing? Steals depth. Consistency grows roots. And only what ripens with time truly lasts.
Saturn dixit!
